"R/T." To those who know Dodge's rich performance history, those letters reflect large displacement, full-size bruiser sedans on the street and racetrack. Dodge brought back the moniker early in 2000 calendar year to tout the automaker's performance bent.
Much more than just cosmetics, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid R/T includes the following robust hardware: 3.5L SOHC V-6 engine, four-speed transaxle with AutoStick, performance-tuned suspension, firm-feel performance power steering, performance-tuned exhaust system with chrome outlet and unique interior styling. The rear spoiler adds to its aggressive, performance look.
Built exclusively at its home plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, the front-drive Intrepid receives a High Output version of the 3.5L Magnum V-6 for 2002 with electronically controlled tuning valve. Michelin Pilot HX MVM4 P225/55R17 tires give the sedan some serious grip on the pavement.
Inside the passenger cabin Dodge is at its best. The layout of displays and controls are excellent with world class interior ergonomics throughout. Seating is very comfortable with the cavernous 60/40 fold down rear seat featuring an armrest and dual cupholders.

Engine performance numbers are 244 hp at 6,400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 3,950 rpm. EPA fuel economy is 18 city/26 highway for the 3.5L using regular unleaded gasoline. Underhood fluids are easily accessible and very clearly marked.
Standard safety features include dual front airbags, speed sensitive door locks, internal emergency trunk lid release, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, side-impact door beams, fog lamps, remote keyless entry, security alarm with Sentry Key theft security system, power speed sensitive automatic door locks and traction control.
