Get 'em while they're hot! - 2002 Mazda Millenia sedan
By this time of year, I should be done with 2002 models and well into my research into the 2003's. However, I felt this vehicle warranted my special attention and your consideration -- the Mazda Millenia sedan. Introduced into the American market in 1994, the Millenia was only vehicle produced from the automaker's aborted upscale luxury marque attempt. Although the Millenia had become the "heart and soul" of the brand, Mazda has quietly made the 2002 model the last one for this gem of automotive driving.
Available in Premium, Premium Special Edition, S and S Special Edition models, this Mazda is for the driver looking for something more than just automotive transportation. Fast, fun and nimble, this front driver entices the buyer to take a closer look.
The Premium model is equipped with a 2.5L DOHC 24-valve V6 engine bolted to a four-speed automatic gearbox with overdrive. S models are equipped with a "Miller cycle" 2.3L V-6 also joined to a four-speed automatic transmission. An exhilarating experience to drive, this small displacement six-cylinder engine generates as much horse power as some eight cylinder engines.
On the road the Millenia connects with the driver to deliver an awesome performance. Driver and car function together as one seamless unit of excitement over almost any road surface or situation. Its unibody construction includes reinforced side sill and other structural members to create a robust foundation for the suspension.
An athletic four-wheel multi-link independent suspension features a front multi-link setup with struts, coil springs and a stabilizer bar. The rear suspension consists of a multi-link configuration with three lateral and two longitudinal links with toe control and struts with coil springs. Michelin Energy X Green MXV4 Plus P215/55R16 tires keep the car glued to the road under most driving situations.
Inside the cabin, the driver's view of the road is good from the very comfortable driver's seat. Displays and controls are excellent. Everything falls easily to the driver's hand.
The rear seating area is roomy and comfortable for two adults with an armrest as a welcome addition. Nifty touches abound inside the passenger cabin such as the power tilt wheel control, storage space in the door armrests, and heated leather seats (part of the $600 optional Four Seasons package.)
