Stylish & Sporty: 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer sedan
The Mitsubishi Lancer compact sports sedan enters 2016 with a number of key design and feature improvements to set it apart from the pack. Exterior enhancements include fresh new front end exterior design, new alloy wheel designs and brand new exterior paint colors: New Diamond White Pearl, New Alloy Silver, Tarmac Black, Octane Blue, Rally Red, and Mercury Gray.
For 2016, the Lancer sedan is available in the following trim levels: ES 2.0L; ES 2.4L AWC; SE 2.4L AWC; SEL 2.4L AWC and GT 2.4L. Base power for the Lancer is generated by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine bolted to a five-speed manual gearbox. Upmarket models are equipped with a more powerful 2.4L four-cylinder prime mover joined to a new generation CVT8 continuously variable automatic transmission that improves both performance and fuel economy. Mitsubishi's outstanding and highly capable All-Wheel Control (AWC) all-wheel drive system is standard on ES 2.4L AWC, SE 2.4L AWC and SEL 2.4L AWC. The performance oriented GT 2.4L is outfitted with a five-speed manual gearbox. The CVT automatic is an available option on the base ES 2.0L model.
The 2016 Lancer sedan features Mitsubishi Motors advanced Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) safety body construction system that is engineered to absorb energy to help provide protection to the vehicle's occupants. Control hardware for the Lancer sedan consists of a MacPherson Strut configuration with stabilizer bar in front and a multi-link type suspension at the rear. Upscale models include a rear stabilizer bar.
Inside the passenger cabin, the Lancer receives a number of key design and/or feature improvements to its interior for the new model year. All models now feature a redesigned front center console complete with a convenient USB port as well as an improved new display audio system. The optional navigation system has been redesigned and includes a new reconfigured display screen. The Lancer ES and SE models now come standard with improved fabric seats and gloss black trim. All models include a 60/40 split folding rear seat.
