The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V is a performance-driven super sedan with sophisticated technology to enhance the quality of each ride. Engineered proof of Cadillac’s V-series promise of passion without compromise, the Cadillac performance sedan is the street-inspired version of the championship-winning Cadillac DPi-V.R race car. Built for performance and equipped with luxury, the sedan features sophisticated road manners and unprecedented performance - engineered with true track capability straight from the factory.
Almost every exterior panel on the Cadillac CTS-V is unique, from the fascias and fenders, to the hood, rear spoiler and rocker moldings – and every one was designed to support the car’s capability, contributing to lift reduction, enhanced cooling and improved aero management. With its athletic stance, wide body and low height, the shape of the sedan is both aggressive and intelligent. Colors offered for 2018 include Black Raven, Red Obsession Tintcoat, Phantom Gray Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat, Radiant Silver Metallic and all-new colors Satin Steel Metallic and Vector Blue Metallic.
Power is generated by a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine mated to a Hydro-Matic 8L90 paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission. The CTS-V is capable of zero-to-sixty performance in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.
The CTS-V is no slouch when it comes to control hardware, outfitted with a Brembo high-performance brake system developed to provide durability, consistency and the capability for track-day performance straight from the factory; a segment-best, third-generation Magnetic Ride Control delivering 40-percent faster damping response.
Driver-selectable driving modes for touring, sport, snow and track; a segment-exclusive, racing-derived Performance Traction Management system with five additional modes allowing the driver to select the level of desired system assistance, matched for driver skill or road condition; and Launch Control enabling full-throttle acceleration from a stop for maximum performance.
Inside the passenger cabin, a performance-focused interior with handcrafted execution awaits driver and passengers. The design and relationship of key components are focused expressly on performance-driving ergonomics. Handcrafted cut-and-sew elements, with decorative stitching and authentic materials, surround performance seating, features and technology.
Available 16-way-adjustable RECARO performance front seats are the lynchpins for the driving experience, with aggressive, adjustable bolsters that help hold the driver and front passenger in place during high-load cornering. They also have a luxury-performance feel, trimmed in Mulan leather with sueded microfiber inserts and seatbacks. Twenty-way-adjustable, semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats with sueded microfiber inserts are standard.
The next-generation Cadillac user experience (CUE) is a dynamic platform that can be adjusted over time to meet a customer’s evolving connectivity needs, leveraging the cloud to enable personalization, available connected navigation, and applications via the Collection app store. With functionality that applies popular apps and smartphone practices in the vehicle, the new user experience system provides customers with easier access to the most common features. The more intuitive operation includes a Summary View in which all key applications – climate, audio, phone and navigation – are displayed on one screen.
The CTS-V now includes two additional USB ports into the rear console, and a smart-heated steering wheel which activates with temperature to keep the driver’s hands at a comfortable temperature.
